Human Factors in Health Care Training & Consulting

Human factors is defined as a science to improve safety and efficiency by improving a “work system.” Human factors in healthcare can play a crucial role in achieving the delivery of value-based care. Human factors in health care training includes a basic introduction to the subject of human factors and toolkits and checklists to empower clinicians to think like human factors engineers.

After the training, consulting sessions are led by a trained human factors engineer who can perform work system audits and help identify barriers to productivity. The human factors engineer can also provide tools, checklists, and methods to improve safe care in a health care setting with a focus on human or process errors.
