Group from Italy Visits Baylor Scott & White Health

The Colibri Hospital Consortium from Italy visited various Baylor Scott & White Health facilities in Dallas last week. The mission of the Colibri Hospital Consortium is to organize and manage the purchase of goods and services in the common interest of all the consortium members, in order to obtain discounts and awards on purchased quantities, through activities of collective negotiation with the corresponding commercial counterparts. This work allows the members of the consortium to concentrate on the personalized care of the user from a healthcare, assistance, rehabilitative and socio-health point of view, inside a public system with the integration of public planning, in order to reach the best efficiency for young and adult patients, and to provide the highest level of independence in daily and relationship life, for older patients and elderly.

As the Consortium works to organize and manage the common interests of its members, quality remains a top priority. Baylor Scott & White Health – STEEEP Global Institute provided Colibri with a study tour of their STEEEP health care quality improvement journey including a tour of The Heart Hospital Baylor Plano, tour of the Baylor Institute for Rehabilitation, and presentations on various quality topics.

Presentation Topics Included:

  • Overview of the Baylor Scott & White Quality Alliance & Home Health
  • Primary Care Transformation
  • Importance of Analytics & Benchmarking
  • Goal Alignment & Incentive Structure

This study tour was very informative for the group from Italy and they left with many ideas for improvement at their own hospitals. The Baylor Scott & White Health staff also really enjoyed interacting with the Colibri Hospital Consortium visitors. It was a great experience for both groups.
